The design process for a new watch is a complex one that involves many elements, such as research, inspiration, creativity, and technology. We will explain the different stages of designing a watch, from the initial concept to the final production.

Conceptual idea, research and inspiration

The project is based on a detailed analysis of the customer needs. During this first meeting the customer detail his requests about of product type, design and price.

We then also look for current trends, materials, and manufacturing techniques that can be suited for this project. This stage allows designers to understand the styles that are currently popular, as well as the innovations that have recently been developed in the watch industry.

Designers also seek inspiration from a variety of sources, ranging from modern lifestyles to historical designs. This stage may involve creating inspiration boards, researching specific styles, or analysing consumer behaviour patterns.

2D & 3D Design

Second step may involve creating sketches or 2D drawings executed by experienced graphics, through which style, dimensions and main technical parameters are set.

By a 3D design it is possible to reach a detailed and faithful reproduction of the object.

Once the design concept is finalized, designers work on the details of the watch. This stage involves selecting materials, determining technical specifications, creating functional models, and designing the watch movement.

Designers also work on the aesthetics of the watch, determining colors, crown style, display orientation, and other visual features. This stage is crucial to creating a watch that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

The design concept must meet the needs of the target audience while also reflecting the watch brand’s identity. This stage may require multiple revision and testing cycles to ensure that the concept is ready for production.

Prototype & Sample

The prototype shows both shape and dimension of the watch of the mass production.

The final sample let the customer see for real what have been defined during the cooperation, perfectly reproducing the final series.

Mass production

Once the watch design is finalized, production plans are developed, and prototypes are created. Prototypes are tested to ensure they meet technical and quality specifications.

After testing, watch production can begin. Watches are assembled from individual parts and then subjected to rigorous testing to ensure they function correctly. Production may take several weeks or several months, depending on the complexity of the watch.

Mass production is the realization of the project, according to the agreed quantity. Our company will provide also after-sale assistance, managed by our high skilled technicians.
